Work Permit and Sponsorship in Canada

Canada has always been a favourite destination not only for travelling but for immigration as well. It is often very difficult to cross the borders of a foreign country without proper paperwork, and it is same with Canada as well. All your documents and papers must be submitted and verified before entering the borders. The rules are though very strict but the entire process is easy to understand and complete with assistance from a regulated recognised visa service provider. Sky Wheel Immigration is a recognised travel agency that provides all kinds of support for immigration and visa related documentation not just limited to Canada.

Canadian Work Permits

There are many eligible candidates who wish to go abroad to explore more opportunities or add new dimensions to their resume. For all such candidates, Canada is an ideal place. Canadian government welcomes skilled labourers in every kind of industries and the entire process of immigration and visa is well regulated and authorised by the immigrant personnel. One of the work permits is the LMIA Work Permit in Canada. It is basically labour market impact assessment, which is a document from Employment and Social Development Canada which is like an authorisation to the employer to hire a temporary employee or worker. Not everyone needs this assessment certificate, but most of them do as it states that they are in need of a temporary employee and there is no Canadian labour available for the position as of now. Once this assessment is approved, a copy of the confirmation letter needs to be handed over to the temporary labours, so that he/she can apply for the work permit. Another type of permit is an Open Work Permit in Canada that is not job specific and hence LMIA is not required for the same. It is also known as international mobility program for Canada and provides a flexibility to the employee to keep on changing the employer until the permit is valid. In both kinds of work permits, however you are bound to follow certain eligibility criteria.

Canadian Sponsorship

Those living in Canada or holds a permanent citizenship of the country have an option to opt for Family Sponsorship in Canada. This kind of sponsorship is applicable to spouse, parents, children, grandparents etc. on condition that the expenses can be met by sponsor. The basic eligibility to sponsor a person are as follows:

·         You must be at least 18 years of age

·         The sponsored member must not require any kind of social assistance from the government of Canada

·         You must be able to financially support them if required

To apply under the sponsorship program, a sponsor should submit an application to become a sponsor and a sponsored member should apply for permanent residence. These 2 applications must be duly submitted together along with all the relevant documents. Medical exams and police verification is mandatory at the time of application processing once the application fee and documents are submitted. For different category of the sponsored member, the approval time of the application will vary.
